Meet Our Newest Intern: Sana

Hello booklovers! My name is Sana, and I am Book*hugs newest intern.

I started working at Book*hug during my placement for my MA program, and I’m so delighted to continue working here! My time at Book*hug has been great, and I am having so much fun learning new things about the publishing industry, specifically independent publishers. My main responsibility here at Book*hug is working as an editorial assistant, but there are some other tasks I take on as well, such as creating Instagram reels for Book*hugs Instagram page, packaging books, and occasionally writing blogs.

I have always been fascinated with books and the world of literature, and I’ve loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember, so I decided to follow my passions and study literature academically. My BA is in English Literature, and my Master’s degree is in Literatures of Modernity. Throughout the years, I have studied many aspects of literature, my main focus being literary Criticism and literary theories. I have also worked on an article that will be featured in a magazine’s relaunch.

I read lots of literary fiction, romance, and occasionally non-fiction. One of my favourite writers is Fyodor Dostoevsky. Dostoevsky’s writing fascinates me and takes me into a world of possibilities. One of my favourite novels by Dostoevsky is Crime and Punishment, and I will always recommend this book. I think everyone should read this book at least once in their life. As for romance author’s go, I really enjoy Canadian writer Elsie Silver’s books. From the Book*hug writer’s I love Letters to Amelia by Lindsay Zier-Vogel, and I Can’t Get You Out of My Mind by Marianne Apostolides.

Working here at Book*hug has been such an incredible privilege and the environment has been so welcoming. I have had the best time working here and have learned so many things. Thank you, Book*hug, for taking me on! Happy reading everyone!
