Holidays à la BookThug

It’s currently the season for a lot of things—like spending exorbitant amounts of money on yourself and on other people and on food and on things nobody really needs—but most excitingly, ’tis the season to read. What else would you do with your time off? BookThug wants to help with this. From now until January 2nd, 2014, we’re offering you 30% off the list price of all our existing titles, including the 2013 frontlist—so you can make your list, check it twice, and pick it all up from the BookThug website. Even better, we’re also in the giving mood this month, so if your order includes a book of poetry, we’ll gift you a free copy of the latest issue of BafterC; if it includes a book of prose, you’ll get a free copy of The Coming Envelope, issue 8.

And, since we know you’re definitely just lounging around this holiday season, and in no way juggling family visits or in-laws or children out of school, we’re happy to provide you with three convenient BookThug Bookmobile stops you can visit this month to wrap up your holiday shopping (in-laws and little ones in tow):

  • On Saturday, December 7, BookThug will be at Artscape Wychwood Barns from 9-12 a.m. as a part of their 100-Mile Literary Diet series (601 Christie Street, at St. Clair)
  • On Saturday, December 7, we’ll be heading straight from Wychwood to COCO Crafted Organic Chocolates, where from 1-5 p.m. you can grab your favourite BookThug titles and some decadent handcrafted chocolates or organic hot cocoa to go with them. And in case you can’t make it then, we’ll also be setting up shop at COCO on Sunday, December 15 and Sunday, December 22 from 12-5 p.m. (365 Jane Street, south of Annette)

If that’s still not enough BookThug for you, BookThug headquarters will be celebrating the season in quirky, cosy style on Sunday, December 8, with cookies, cake, and chili. RSVP to the Facebook event here, or e-mail hazel@bookhugpress.ca. Ugly holiday sweaters are most welcome.

Hopefully we’ll see you around at least a few times this month, but even if we don’t, all of us at BookThug wish you a warm, beautiful, fun-filled holiday season.
