The poetry translation project VERSschmuggelreVERSible is a symbiotic lyrical laboratory for materiality, conceptual intensity, and background noise. In 2020, the project’s focus was on poetry from Canada and brought together six German poets, and twelve Canadian poets (six writing in English and six writing in French). Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the translation workshop was hosted online over Zoom. What is special about this poetic exchange is that all eighteen poets involved in the workshop worked with all three languagesEnglish, French, and German. The corresponding intimacy carried across into the digital world is noticeable in the resulting volume, making this anthology a wonderful document of lived possibilities.
