The Puritan presents Black Friday V. Join the editors, staff, and readers of The Puritan for their much-anticipated annual year-in-review event—now a fun-filled highlight of every fall literary season. Featuring readings by recent Puritan authors who will provide short (short) live readings. These writers include Marianne Apostolides, author of the forthcoming Deep Salt Water, Nicole Chin, Krista Foss, Christine Fischer-Guy, Khalida Venus Hassan, David Huebert, Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer, Canisia Lubrin, DD Miller, Shane Nielson and Matthew Tierney.

BLACK FRIDAY V is a night of celebrations to announce the winners of the Fifth Annual Thomas Morton Memorial Prize in Literary Excellence, judged by Rawi Hage and Jan Zwicky, for both fiction and poetry.

BLACK FRIDAY V also sees the electronic launch of Issue 35: Fall 2016—a fantastic collection of fiction, poetry, and journalism to end a great calendar year.
