The Literary Press Group Launches #ReadUp from Canadian Indie Publishers

The Literary Press Group of Canada has launched a digital awareness campaign, “Read Up“, to highlight the value of Canadian literary publishers and the books they produce. Book*hug Press is a proud member of this important organization.

All books are not created equal. For Canadian independent literary publishers, books are a labour of love, one that takes years of hard work—from finding and nurturing exciting new and established voices to editorial, design, production, and marketing—and a singular passion for publishing.

In these uncertain, unprecedented times, we want our purchases to support local independently-owned businesses, causes, and economies, including the countless small presses that operate across Canada. Canadian-owned and -controlled literary publishers have a humble goal: to connect readers with good books. #ReadUp on the Literary Press Group’s fiercely independent and creative publishers, and get to know the people behind the books you love.
